Two steps closer..

Hello people! Yesterday was the last day at the university with my classmates. We were all day at the university’s department at San Niccolò area for our Architecture and Environment Lab exam, my last exam of a laboratory! After that I have only 2 exams left for my masters degree.. Below some pics on my way, during and after the exam. Have a nice evening!

Nadia’s spanakopita..

_Spanakopita

(/ˌspænəˈkɒpɪtə/; Modern Greek: σπανακόπιτα, from σπανάκι, spanáki, spinach, and πίτα, píta, pie) or spinach pie is a Greek savory pastry.

A few days ago Nadia invited me to watch a movie and in the meantime she prepared a delicious spinach pie! The main ingredients are : phyllo dough, spinach, feta cheese, egg, onions and seasoning. Of course there are numerous variations of this dish, where besides spinach, leeks, fennel, chard or sorrel can also be used. We added leeks and scallions this time. Buon appetito!

Linguini with Steamed Meatballs..

Have a nice week everyone!

Lunch time and i’m at school eating a sandwich in front of my computer.. Yesterday however I prepared an amazing dish, pasta with steamed meatballs recipe by Gennaro Contaldo. You definitely have to try it!

Ingredients

  • 100g stale bread, crusts removed
  • extra virgin olive oil
  • 250g lean beef and pork mince
  • 1 fresh red chilli, finely chopped
  • 1 clove of garlic, finely chopped
  • a handful of fresh flat-leaf parsley leaves, finely chopped
  • sea salt and freshly ground black pepper
  • 400g linguine
  • Parmesan cheese and rocket, to serve

Relax……

Today we had our last exam for this semester! So after a reaaalllyyyyy long time i had the chance to go out with some friends and just have fun.. We first went for dinner at Osteria Santo Spirito and then for drinks always at Santo Spirito square.. At the end we ended up at my favorite bakery to have bombolone alla Nutella of course!

Homemade Sushi!!

On Friday Tiziano and Valentina invited us for dinner. They prepared different types of sushi and ramen soup!
I was already full after the ramen, but I couldn’t resist at the sushi Tiziano prepared. I can’t remember how many pieces I ate, since everything was delicious!
Urbanzip loves Japanese food..!

Din(n)er time..

Hi everyone!

Today i was with my friend Nadia shopping at the center. After a lot of walking we finally got hungry, so we went for a hamburger. The best hamburger for me in Florence is at The Diner! This is definitely the place for an original American diner food, from pancakes to burgers. Opens early for breakfast, brunch and stays open all day long! It’s a little difficult for a turist to find, since it’s not placed at a busy street, but all the Americans seem to find it and love it! My favorite part of the hamburger are the homemade potatoes and the cheddar cheese..

risotto with cuttlefish and squid..

Mushroom spaghetti..

Hi everyone!

Today urbanzip is one month old…! I had in mind a sweet recipe for today, but i couldn’t find an ingredient.. 😦

So i’m posting a simple spaghetti recipe with mushrooms! Simple and delicious!!

You will need (for 2):

1/2 package of spaghetti
250 g fresh mushrooms
2 cloves of garlic
1 bunch of parsley
a glass of white wine
olive oil
salt

Cut the mushrooms into thin slices. Peel and finely chop the garlic. Put in casserole mushrooms and garlic with olive oil and stir over high heat for a few minutes. Then add the wine.

Finely chop the parsley and add it along with the cooked spaghetti to the mixture.

Stir in the Parmesan cheese and serve.. Βuon appetito!!
